Company History

charssi is a small gourmet food company focused on creating the best creamy fudge in the nation. We are a family run business and make every one of our Spoon Fudge batches by hand. We believe that the care we put into creating each one of our delicious batches makes every difference.

Cherie Funderburg, the owner and current lone candy-maker on staff, started making Spoon Fudge a number of years ago as Christmas gifts for friends and family. With her background in web development and graphic design (Cherie is co-founder and co-owner of RedLime Web Development, a web development company she runs with her husband), it wasn't long before these simple gifts found themselves in specialty jars and with custom-created labels and other embellishments, creating a unique and upscale gift that was eagerly looked forward to each year by those who received them.



At the urging of these same friends and family members, Cherie decided to go into business selling Spoon Fudge and charssi was born. Starting with just a few flavors, we've gradually added new flavors at our customer's requests until we have hit our current lineup of 11 gourmet flavors. And of course, our popular Flavor of the Month.

Cherie would like to make Spoon Fudge a household name and would one day love to be known as the Mrs. Fields of the Spoon Fudge world. She loves every aspect of the fudge making business and really enjoys watching someone taste Spoon Fudge for the first time.

Company Information

charssi is located in Port Angeles, WA and does not currently have a retail storefront. We recently moved here from Tucson, AZ and plans are underway open a cafe specializing in gourmet Hot Cocoas, Gluten-Free baked goods and of course, Spoon Fudge!

All items made by charssi are created in small, handmade batches. We do not use automated machinary for any part of our manufacturing process. The highest possible quality product and packaging are our goal.

Why “charssi”?

Our name, charssi, is a name that is steeped in family history and childhood memories.

Cherie was just a small child when her paternal grandfather starting calling her “Charssi.” This nickname stuck and was used up until his death in the early 80's.

Though her grandfather was gone, the nickname he gave her was a treasured memory and when it came time to name the company, it was an immediate decision. There was no thought to any other name - this company could only be called “charssi.”
